Dr Nurhayati received her medical degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in April 1997. For her postgraduate qualification, she obtained Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) in 2006 from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). In 2009, she became a trainee in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Perfusion Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor.
