Dr. Amir has vast experience in the latest Radiotherapy treatment modalities including IMRT, IGRT, SRT, SRS and Brachytherapy. He offers the latest evidence-based targeted therapies and chemotherapies to patients in order to enhance survival and optimise cure.

Dr. Amir is a Malaysian, a Penangite, and has served the community in the field of Oncology for more than 15 years.

He was a bright student at the Penang Free School and has obtained a scholarship to pursue Medicine at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. Upon graduation, he returned to Penang, and completed his internship and subsequently served as a medical officer in various departments at the Penang General Hospital, where he found special interest in serving cancer patients. He then worked and pursued Clinical Oncology postgraduate training as a Specialist Registrar at the Christie Hospital in Manchester, United Kingdom, which is one of the largest cancer centres in Europe.

Dr. Amir completed his training in the UK and obtained Clinical Oncology Fellowships from Royal College of Radiologists London and Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.

He then returned to Penang and served as a Consultant Oncologist & Radiotherapist in Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital for 2 years. He joined Loh Guan Lye Specialists Centre as a Consultant Oncologist & Radiotherapist for a further 2 years before joining Gleneagles Penang.
