Entire spectrum of colorectal diseases specifically in cancer surgery and all general surgical procedures.

• Complex Colorectal Surgery including laparoscopic surgery, open surgery and Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS)
• All general surgical procedures including upper and lower endoscopy

Dr. Buvan hails from Sungai Petani, Kedah. He graduated with a MBBS degree, University of Malaya in 1999. He then served as an intern and as a Medical Officer in Surgery for three years in Hospital Taiping, Perak. He subsequently trained in surgery under Dato Dr. RR Naidu in Hospital Alor Star, Kedah, and graduated with a Master’s in Surgery from University Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Dr. Buvan went on to serve as a General Surgeon at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Star, Kedah where he was actively involved in academic surgical activities, including being an Honorary Lecturer to the Medical Faculty of AIMST University and Facilitator to Surgical programmes of The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland at Penang Medical College.

Dr. Buvan was subsequently admitted as Member of The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He also obtained training in Laparoscopic Surgery at the Indian Institute of Laparoscopic Surgery (IILS) Coimbatore, India.

Dr. Buvan then enrolled in the Subspecialty Training Programme in Colorectal Surgery. He trained in the Colorectal Units of Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, University Kebangsaan Malaysia and in Hull University, England where he was a Lecturer in Surgery and completed his Clinical Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at The Hull & East Yorkshire NHS Trust. During this time, he had the opportunity to train under two renowned Colorectal Surgeons – Prof. Graemme Duthie and John Hartley.
