Dr. Nahulan Thevarajah is a General Orthopaedic and Trauma surgeon whose expertise is in Foot and Ankle surgery. He obtained his Fellowship in surgery from The Royal College of Surgeon, Edinburgh in 1999 and was gazetted as an Orthopaedic surgeon in 2002. He pursued his interest in Foot and Ankle surgery in Taiwan in 2008, under a Malaysian Government Scholarship. Subsequently, he did a Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Arthroplasty and Arthroscopic surgery in the Republic of Korea.
He was the head of Foot and Ankle Service, Ministry of Health, Malaysia and was responsible for the development of these services in Malaysia as well as the training of Orthopaedic surgeons in Foot and Ankle surgery. He is also a member of Malaysian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and has given numerous professional and public talks on foot and ankle problem.
Dr. Nahulan is a strong advocate of prevention of loss of lower limb due to complications of diabetic foot and was responsible for setting up the Diabetic Foot Clinic in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu. His present interest is reconstruction of complex foot and ankle trauma and also treatment of sports injuries to the foot and ankle region.
